Snakes in Trees
Like snakes in trees,
no one sees
events still yet to
come.
Crows on corn -
be ye forewarned
the day when day’s no
more.
Flying bats
echoing that
we have but what we
have.
Lifeless trees
stand over seas
of stagnant, stinking
death.
Voiceless birds
that no one’s heard,
for they all are dead.
Swarming flies
fill the skies
to take life’s final
gasp.
Maggots in flesh.
Oh how I wish
that we had met Earth’s
needs.
For snakes in trees,
and no one sees
events that come to
pass.
